This really got me going

While no one could accuse fashion of being as serious as, say brain surgery or the
quest for world peace, the clothes we wear are an enormously powerful statement
that can reveal more about us than anything we may say or do. It is a form of
tribalism and a way of giving clear messages about who we are, so it is not surprising that people can have an abiding fascination with something as apparently
superficial as a hat or a purse. ( Tucker and Kingswell )

Midnight snack

I love oatmeal cookies, mostly because of the endless ways you can personalize them and always come out with something delicious (for the most part). I added chocolate chips, some crasins, dollops of salty peanut butter, nutella as well as a splash of molasses. This recipe is quick and makes 12 cookies. A perfect amount for a late night snack, and some left for lunch or breakfast..

Recipe
Ingredients: 1/4 cup butter softened 1/4 cup sugar  1/4 cup packed brown sugar 1 egg  1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup all-purpose flour  1/2 cup quick-cooking oats 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon  1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Cream butter and sugars. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; gradually stir into creamed mixture. Stir in oats, chocolate chips and any other goodness you want to add (nuts, marshmallowscoconut, salty peanut butter, bacon ect. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 325° for around 8 mins or until the edges start to get dark
Yield: 1 dozen.

Cheers to the new year! ♥

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. First day back to school tomorrow. Ahhhh I can't believe a new year has started, 2012. I love it, I love fresh starts, reinventions, resolutions, self betterment, growth. There's no better time to reflect and make new commitments than January. We are human and shit happens, we make mistakes however it still  feels great going into a new year with more knowledge and responsibility of our actions. I wish everyone luck in their pursuits and may 2012 be filled with great outfits, happiness and success!

Love NAT ♥
