outfit post

Just got home from a day of school. Wearing some of my new purchases. Ahh theres nothing like retail therapy. I bought some black over the nee boots from Aldo $110. I decided I can't rock the flat boots, heels it is. Im defiantly looking forward to buying more boots. I was really excited to find some black thigh high socks! Found at Zara for $11.95 which is kind of a lot for socks but oh well. I also am wearing my Gucci side bag.

I also couldn't help myself from wandering into ariztia

I bought this cozy Wilfred Cardigan($110) and a new black corset top from Talula ($30)

Worn on the left by Ashley Greene, I wanted it last winter but had no $$. It also just came our in a new oatmeal color that is gorgeous

Michael Kaye

Sorry to be so MIA i've been so busy with school and wrestling!

But one exciting thing did happen this week, a fashion designer came to talk to my design class.

His name is Michael Kaye

Here he is on the left with Canadas next top model runner up
(Who like Michael is from edmonton)

 i'snt that a gourgous dress!

Michael Kaye is an award winning fashion designer. He is well known for his elagant tartan gowns

It was really exciting to listen to his journey, starting as a little boy who loved fashion growing up in edmonton to someone who furiously chased his dreams, and twenty one years later he's ALMOST there. He is a graduate of my program at the UofA and after school he moved to New York and worked for many companies before he started his own house Michael Kaye Couture. In the last couple years the economy has not created the best market for couture but Michael is definatly a rising star. He has worked really hard to get where he is, his newest veture is a jewelry collection for Macy's and a line of Bow Ties that he is hoping to get into Holt Renfew.

Overall it was a great experience to have him visit us and have our questions answered. We learned a lot about the industry and how hard it is, but hey he did it.

when did I become so cheap!

hmm mabye il just refer to my shopping style as LUX FOR LESS. I've been really picky lately when it comes to buying clothes. I use to just blow all my money spur of the moment. I guess this cheapness is a good and bad thing. Good because I'm a student and should save my money so I can do things like buy my lunch and get drunk on the weekend, kidding! mostly. And bad because I feel like I have no clothes and I hate re wearing so many of my outfits. Also shopaholics are like my favorite people and bloggers, I love to see all their hauls!

I recently picked up this number from Stitches for 29.99 after looking at it for a couple days. This Jacket is a little girly and it's my take on military jacket trend. It's just easy to throw over some of my summer outfits like dresses and bring them into the fall.

Some military jacket inspiration

UGGly

Walking past Browns shoes the other day, this new style of UGG boot caught my eye. CRAZIEST BOOT  I have ever seen. I wonder who will buy these! The Bay is also now selling Ugg boots, with up to 35 styles. I love my uggs they are perfect for the cold city of Edmonton, especially for running late to class. I own tall chesnut uggs that are getting way to old and worn and grey cardy ones. This year I think i've been thinking about these babys..
